Brookfield Soccer Club Programs

U6 Soccer
(Approximately Ages 4 thru 6)

The U6 program is for our youngest soccer players and is designed to introduce children to the game of soccer.  For the Fall 2017-Spring 2018 season, U6 is open to players born in 2012 and 2013.

U6 is held on Saturday mornings at the fields behind Town Hall, usually behind Kids' Kingdom (Lower Ptak field) or next to the Police Station (Upper Ptak field).  One or two 75-minute sessions are scheduled, depending on the number of players registered.  Players are divided into co-ed teams of 10 to 14 players.  The field is divided into 6 to 8 small fields.  Each team practices for about an hour and then will play a scrimmage against another team.  Practice consists mainly of fun drills that make a game out of learning the basic skills of soccer.  No goalies are used during the scrimmage and no score is kept.  The idea is for the kids to just have fun and develop a love for the game.

U6 players will be given a Brookfield Soccer t-shirt (different colors for each team).  Each player is required to wear shinguards and players are strongly encouraged to wear cleats and bring a water bottle.

U8 Soccer
(Approximately Ages 6 thru 8)

The U8 program is designed to build on the basic soccer skills learned in the U6 Program and also start introducing players to more formal game play.  For players who have never played soccer before, it is an age-appropriate program designed to expose players to the sport.  For the Fall 2017-Spring 2018 season, U8 is open to players born in 2010 and 2011.

U8 teams practice one evening per week (from Monday to Thursday) and play one game each Saturday.  Practices are held on the front field at Huckleberry Hill Elementary School.  Games are held on the new Turf fields at Cadigan Park between 9:00am and 12 noon (2 games will be played concurrently).  Players are divided into separate Boys and Girls Divisions and placed on teams of approximately 10 players.

Uniforms consist of a reversible blue and gold jersey, blue shorts and blue socks.  These can be purchased online - click here for uniform ordering details.  Each player is required to wear shinguards, socks and cleats to practices and games and players are strongly encouraged to bring a water bottle.
